As a Release of Information Specialist, you’ll play a key role in managing and safeguarding patient health information while ensuring records are handled efficiently and delivered with speed and accuracy.
What You’ll Do:
- Process medical record requests from patients, healthcare providers, and authorized entities with precision and efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and industry regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Leverage advanced security technology to protect patient data throughout the release process.
- Deliver exceptional client support, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to information requests.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify and fulfill record requests accurately.
- Identify process improvements to enhance turnaround times and efficiency.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, participating in ongoing training and development.
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Health Information Management preferred).
- RHIT certification or similar is a plus but not required.
- Experience in healthcare information management or medical records.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and privacy best practices.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
